Geoff Crawshaw is Chief Technology Officer of OpenAir.com, a venture
capital backed, application service provider. Prior to co-founding
OpenAir.com, he was CEO of his own custom software development company,
OpenAir Software. OpenAir was founded in 1992 to develop leading-edge
software for high-tech clients. Crawshaw is a highly skilled developer
with over 15 years of experience in a wide variety of platforms
and computer languages including UNIX, Windows, NT, C, C++, Perl,
Java, Delphi, Oracle, etc. He has designed major applications including
Lightstream data engine, DataDriller decision support tool, a Java
interface for Wildfire, and a data e-commerce system for CareerSearch.
Before co-founding OpenAir Software, Crawshaw also co-founded
and managed Pelican Environmental Corporation for five years. At
Pelican he developed a number of technical breakthroughs in the
environmental remediation industry and holds a U.S. patent on a
soil vapor recovery technology used extensively in the U.S. and
Europe.
Crawshaw learned to program on a MIT timeshared PDP-11 while attending
Milton Academy in Massachusetts. He graduated Cum Laude from Milton
and continued his development activities on the Apple II and the
TRS-80 while attending Rice University in Houston.
